I’m training in the U.S. on a B-1 visitor visa and want to switch to P-1. Can I change status inside the U.S., and what do I file?

    Yes. File Form I-129 with:

    • Change-of-status box checked.

    • B-1 admission proof (I-94).

    • Full P-1 package (contracts, letters, criteria).

Stay in the U.S. while it’s pending. Consider premium processing. After approval, you’ll need a visa stamp if you travel.
