  • What can I do if my P-1 is stuck in consular processing?

My P-1 petition was approved, but the consulate put me in ‘administrative processing.’ Is there anything I can do from the U.S. to unblock the case?

    • Check if the consulate has all documents; email them a single PDF of I-797, contracts, consultation letters, passport copy.

    • Submit DS-5535/security forms fast.

    • Provide urgent evidence (TV contracts, non-refundable expenses).

    • Follow official channels:

    • Days 1–30: check online portal.

    • Days 31–59: send follow-up email.

    • Day 60: file a Public Inquiry.

    • Day 90+: contact a U.S. Senator or House member.

If the delay passes 180 days, consult a lawyer about a mandamus action.
